Dr. Abha Bhat is a reputable Gynaecologist and Fertility Specialist with 22 years experience. She has been practicing exclusively as a Fertility expert since more than 14 years. During this period, she has operated and has been instrumental in the running of many IVF clinics. She has extensive experience helping infertility patients conceive including Third party reproduction. Her special interests are patients with PCOD and Poor Ovarian Reserve.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
She graduated from the Seth G.S. Medical College (Parel, Mumbai) and completed her Post-Graduation from Lokmanya Tilak Municipal College and Hospital (Sion, Mumbai) in 2000. She trained further in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in various NHS Hospitals in United Kingdom from 2001 to 2008. She became a Member of Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in 2004. She underwent her Fertility Specialist Training in the Assisted Conception Unit of the prestigious King’s College Hospital, London, UK from 2008 to 2009. She has also completed hands-on training in Clinical Embryology in which she was awarded Gold Medal in the qualifying examination.
She is a life member of RCOG, AMC, AFG, MOGS, FOGSI, IFS and ISAR. She practices evidence-based medicine and individualized patient management for best chances of conception.
Her management starts with a careful evaluation of the couple through a detailed questionnaire, and relevant investigations. Evaluation is shared with the couple along with the cause of infertility and the available options for treatment. Each option is explained in details along with cost and efficacy. Recommended pathway is then discussed in a stepwise manner and all questions and doubts are addressed. Once patients understand the process, a management plan is decided with the informed consent of the patients. The entire process is done in accordance with the patients’ perspectives and wishes. Strict confidentiality is maintained at all times. The doctor will advise, assist and support the couple at every step of the fertility journey.
